Trip Report
This was a trip worth doing again and again.
Not only were the people fantastic, the Pacific Ocean off of Catalina
Island was one of the most fascinating ecosystems you could hope to imagine.
While we really didn't know what to expect (that is what expeditions are all
about) we found that the diving was spectacular, even if it wasn't the
tropical coral reefs we were used to seeing. The ocean life was
awesome and the Kelp... well.... lets just say that none of us thought we would
ever get excited about "seaweed" and the kelp was something to get really
excited about.
The Island of Catalina off the shores of
Southern California, form the northern most point of the Channel Islands.
Home to hundreds of Sea Lions and thousands of Orange Garibaldi, this area
is truly a Mecca in the oceans of the world and a must do dive destination.
We are looking forward to going back there
and there will be more to add to this trip report in the near future,
but here are some of the pictures for you to enjoy in the meantime.
More pictures, stories and video coming soon.
