Trip Report
This first time Expedition to the Thunder Bay National Marine
Sanctuary was truly one of the most awesome trips imaginable. The weather
cooperated by giving us fantastic sunny Days and wonderful water conditions.
The Gang from Divers Incorporated dived the Montana, the Wooden Barge
(Johnson?) the Grecian and the Flint. A big thank you to Great
Lakes Odyssey Charters for such a fantastic time.
The first dive on the Montana was our first introduction into
what changes were made in the preserve since becoming a National Marine
Sanctuary. The buoy system was top notch and there was evidence of an
active participation in the preservation of the underwater artifacts.
Topside, the NOAA Museum on Fletcher Street is a "Must See" with a collection of
artifacts that will take your breath away. The trip was a real joy,
We all look forward to diving here again. Here are some of the
underwater pictures.... there are more to come.
