The Island of the Oriskany. This is the part above 130' and is huge. This is one of the most fantastic diving destinations in the USA.  If you are an avid wreck diver this is an unbelievable wreck diving experience.  In the Gulf of Mexico, 22 miles from Pensacola, Florida is the final resting place for the former USS Oriskany CV/CVA 34.  At approximately 888' long and 150' tall, She is currently the largest vessel ever sunk as an artificial reef.  The sinking of the ship on May 17, 2006 was the start of a new era for this fantastic dive destination which was formerly one the US Navy's finest ships. Oriskany underwaterDivers Incorporated wants to give you an opportunity to join us on our newest Drive and Dive Destination.   We are planning a weekend, Three day excursionThe Island looking up from the flight deck there.  Since one of our adventures was blown out (bad weather), we have planned the trip a little differently. We are planning two days of diving on the Oriskany, and have three days to get it done. There are a lot of inland dives in the panhandle of Florida but we want to dive the "Mighty O"  The trip is about 15 hours by car from Ann Arbor and there are sure to be people who want to carpool.   This trip is limited to divers with an Advanced Open Water Certification and must have at least 20 logged dives including two dives deeper than 80' within the past year. For technical divers Special arrangements have been made to allow for technical dives and we will post the specifics here shortly.
