PADI Ice Diver SpecialtyIce Diver in one of Michigan's many inland lakes

 This course is designed to be an introduction to ice diving and to help you develop the skills, knowledge and techniques necessary for ice diving.

 Prerequisites

To qualify for the Ice Diver course, you  must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

  • Be 18 years of age or older.

Course Overview

This course covers the techniques for ice diving.  During the Ice Diver course, you will learn the following:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of ice diving.

  • Site selection, preparation and hole-cutting procedures

  • Special equipment, safety lines, signals, communications, line tending and line-securing techniques

  • Effects of cold, emergency procedures and safety-diver procedures 

Course CostsIce Diver and His dive buddy get ready to explore under the ice.

The PADI Ice Diver Specialty Certification from Divers Incorporated includes:

  • 8 hours of classroom lecture

  • Handouts and course materials

  • Four Certification Dives

  • Use of Specialty Equipment including additional ice screws, chain saw, Carabineers, saftey Lines, and safety equipment. 

  • Certification Processing and Administrative fees

  • Additional Equipment required: Ice Screw and Locking Carabineer available at Divers Incorporated.

This Course Costs $225 per person.
