PADI Equipment Specialist

This course is designed to be an introduction to new types of equipment and to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of equipment.

Prerequisites

To qualify for the Equipment Specialist course, you  must: 

  • Be certified as a PADI Scuba Diver, Junior Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have qualifying certifications from another training organization.

  • Be 10 years of age or older.

Course Overview

This course is intended to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of equipment. It is not an equipment-repair course. Training relative to the repairing and overhauling of equipment, except for very minor servicing, is not to be part of the curriculum. During the Equipment Specialist course, you will learn the following:

  • The theory, principles and operation of diving equipment

  • Routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage

  • Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures (May include a demonstration of repair procedures.)

  • Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment (Optional trying of new or unfamiliar equipment in confined water may be included.) 

Course Costs

The PADI Equipment Specialist Certification from Divers Incorporated includes:

  • 8  hours of classroom lecture

  • Books, Handouts and course materials

  • Certification Processing and Administrative fees

This Course Costs $95 per person.
