PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty
This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air (“nitrox ”) for no stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen.
This course uses traditional Recreational Dive Planners and teaches using dive
tables and Dive computers. For diving with only dive computers, you can
take this course ONLINE!
Prerequisites
To qualify for the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, you must:
* Open Water Diver course students who have completed Open Water Dives 1, 2 and 3 may complete Enriched Air Training Dive 1 combined with Open Water Dive 4. Students completing this option must be certified as PADI Open Water Divers prior to Enriched Air Training Dive 2.
Course Overview
This course covers the knowledge, skills and techniques for diving with enriched
air. The 4 -5 hour classroom portion is spent on knowledge development and practical operational application, which does not include the enriched air training dives. During this course you will learn:

how to analyze, label and properly document your Enriched Air Tank
the hazards and precautions associated with Enriched Air Diving
How to figure the maximum operating depth of any Enriched Air Mix
How to properly plan and execute an Enriched Air Dive

4 - 5 hours of classroom lecture
Books, Handouts and course materials
Two Enriched Air Dives
(recommended not required for certification)
Two Enriched Air Cylinder Rentals including fills
