You are going to become a PADI National Geographic Open Water Diver. Whether you have dreamed about becoming a diver since you were little or you have just recently become interested, we know that the time and resources involved in learning to scuba dive with Divers Incorporated will be well spent. There is no getting around the fact that scuba Diving is an equipment
intensive sport. While the beAdiver
course is the same curriculum as our other
PADI National Geographic Open Water Diver course, this course option
includes most of the equipment you will need to take with you when you go diving
after certification. This makes the beAdiver
package more advantageous for you if you are budgeting to become a diver rather

The Pool and the classroom portions of this course are only the beginning. To complete your certification you must complete dives in an Open Water setting. Typically your open water certification dive will be scheduled as soon as it is possible after the pool and classroom portions of this program. Regardless of how you plan on completing the certification dives you will have six months to complete the required Open Water Certification without retraining. This certification consists of Six Dives including Four open water training dives and two National Geographic Project Dives over a two-day period. You will need to purchase gloves, and a hood appropriate to the environment where you will be diving and you must have a timing device (rented or purchased,) for the National Geographic dives. Because National Geographic Divers are already more advanced than their open water diver counterparts, your certification earns you credit towards your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. Ask your instructor for details. Additional RequirementsA $150.00 deposit is required for class registration. The deposit is refundable until two weeks prior to the start of class. Full payment for the course is due the first night of class. There is a maximum of eight Students per class session to provide better service and attention. Payment plans are available to qualified participants. Students must supply their own snorkeling equipment prior to their first class session. This equipment should be properly fitted and will become your most personal dive gear. We can help you choose something appropriate during your orientation session. This equipment will include: Mask, Fins, Boots (if open heel fins are used), and a Snorkel. These are all available from Divers Incorporated. For your open water weekend you need to purchase gloves and purchase or rent a hood and timing device. Your instructor will explain the equipment requirements during your class sessions. Since you may not know exactly which equipment would work best for you, we understand that you are trusting the staff of Divers Incorporated to fit you properly with equipment that will work for you in all your diving needs. To this end, we offer you an extended version of our exclusive “First Dive Guarantee.” If for any reason you are not happy with your choice of equipment purchased from Divers Incorporated during your course, you can exchange it for something more suitable to your needs that we currently carry. PADI National Geographic Diver Project Through the PADI National Geographic Diver Project component of the course, you join an elite group of explorers, adventurers and conservationists. The insight and training you gain during this program will broaden your awareness and take your diving skills to a new level. You'll learn to observe and explore like an underwater scientist. You will learn to explore with detail, identify important underwater features and navigate with certainty. You will have the diving knowledge and practice to maneuver with poise along the reef’s ecosystems. The National Geographic Diver Program was developed to complement and integrate with the PADI Open Water Diver course. However, there are components unique to the National Geographic Diver Program. Since you will get the National Geographic Diver Crew-Pak at enrollment, the exploration project can be planned at any time during the Open Water Diver course, but typically it is added as an additional evening. The National Geographic Diver open water assignments are scheduled as additional dives beyond those required for the Open Water Diver Certification. This enhances the experience by devoting time specifically to National Geographic dive requirements and by giving you more time in the water with your PADI Open Water Instructor.
