The PADI Open Water Diver Course is a complete course taking you from never knowing anything about diving to becoming a PADI Open Water Diver. Divers Incorporated in Ann Arbor, Michigan offers the complete package, with "No Hidden Fees" and makes sure that you are having fun every step of the way. The PADI Open Water Diver Course is designed for people who do better with guidance or have been away from studying for a while. This course is designed so each week corresponds with a chapter that can be completed in a timely manner within the normal schedule of your life. When we schedule a course one night per week, it gives you an opportunity to "have something come up at work" or to "run-a-little-late." If you miss a day or need extra help on one of the lessons, we are able to schedule a time for make-ups. The longer schedule format also allows you the opportunity to understand the knowledge development sections and gives you more time for practice during the pool sessions. The Pool and the classroom portions of this course are only the beginning. To complete your certification you must complete dives in an Open Water setting. Typically your open water certification dive will be scheduled as soon as it is possible after the pool and classroom portions of this program. Regardless of how you plan on completing the certification dives you will have six months to complete the required Open Water Certification without retraining. This certification consists of Four open water training dives over a two-day period. You will need to purchase gloves, and a hood appropriate to the environment where you will be diving. Ask your instructor for details. Additional RequirementsA $349.00 deposit is required for class registration. The deposit is transferable until two weeks prior to the start of class. Full payment for the course is due the first night of class. There is a maximum of eight Students per instructor to provide better service and attention. Students must supply their own snorkeling equipment prior to their first class session. This equipment should be properly fitted and will become your most personal dive gear. We can help you choose something appropriate during your orientation session. This equipment will include: Mask, Fins, Boots (if open heel fins are used), and a Snorkel. These are all available from Divers Incorporated. For your open water weekend you need to purchase gloves and purchase or rent a hood and timing device. Your instructor will explain the equipment requirements during your class sessions. Since you may not know exactly which equipment would work best for you, we understand that you are trusting the staff of Divers Incorporated to fit you properly with equipment that will work for you in all your diving needs. To this end, we offer you an extended version of our exclusive “First Dive Guarantee.” If for any reason you are not happy with your choice of equipment purchased from Divers Incorporated during your course, you can exchange it for something more suitable to your needs that we currently carry.
