Favorite Dive Ever: Diving off the island of Dominica. Hovering. Checking out a hawksbill turtle. The turtle turned to me, swam directly toward me, stopped 6 inches below me, and looked up at me over her shoulder.

Favorite Local Dive: Junk hunting in the Detroit River outside of old hotels. I found old bottles, broken tea cups, glass marbles, hand made railroad spikes, and lots of silt.

Favorite Great Lake Shipwreck: I can’t remember what it’s called. Too many pages of dive logs to look through. It was a 300 foot long wooden schooner with one piece beams that were so wide and so long, it boggled my mind to think of the size of the tree that they came from. 

What they would like you to know about them:  I’ve been teaching high school physics and math for 10 years and I haven’t lost my mind yet. I’ve been told that I have lots of energy and patience and can explain things pretty well. I love to learn and to help people learn, in the water and out of it. Besides scuba diving, I love dark chocolate, kettle cooked potato chips and racing my bicycle.
